6290.7 was Radio Pirana Int. Station op confirmed ID in the pirate chat. Heard here at 1849 UTC with Creedence Clearwater Revival then Fairground Attraction. Weak signal, just able to catch snatches of music on SW England SDR, voice audio only just audible
QTH: South West England

Hi! We are on now these days, often trought the night from a mobile location in Denmark where I'm for a few days...  So power is not high, just around 20 watts carrier,  and with a Moonraker AMPRO vertical antenna. So, not much output but has been logged quiet faraway anyway.

Qsl's will be verified with Denmark as QTH

a faint carrier on Wednesday 04 at 0810 utc,
nothing at 0920.

A doublet (horizontal or inverted V) would be much efficient. But a simpler trick is to get an horizontal part on the top of the antenna, such as a single wire (not a top hat).
With a typical mobile vertical antenna mounted on a rear bumper, that can be done by pulling the top of the antenna with one or two nylon fishing lines towards the front bumper. No insulator needed, but that will lower the resonant frequency and change the SWR. The wanted effect is to fill the high angles with more power.

Also for efficiency, never use 1/4 WL long radials : the radials (buried or on the ground) should be kept no more than 1/8 WL long. The idea is to put the high current part higher above the ground. Hope that helps.
