WPTX 1690 210 UTC 9 Dec 2019

WPTX Lexington Park MD  with a great all water path signal into Va Beach tonight, listening on a Hallicrafters S38 using what's left of the HF antenna at 0210 UTC playing the Carpenters Superstar , later into Gordon Lightfoot / Rainy day people and Bread/ Aubrey.
Some great old tunes esp nice to hear Bread over the air, who really never got full recognition during a time when a lot of rock was coming out -for their all but forgotten musically brilliant catalog of timeless , often sad, songs of unrequited love.

In my opinion.

Back in the early 70's if you wanted to lay claim on the inside line to your lady Du Jour  just mention David Gates and ram a Bread 8 Track into your car stereo.  Pretty low hanging fruit.

Just scanning the MW band and happen to stop on 1690. Have a nice strong signal with two WPTX ids. 0142z 01/07/2020.
