Hey, Redhat!

Just tuned in at 0408 UTC and hearing the Tubes' "White Punks on Dope" well via the local SDR in Machias, WA. Just a bit of fading and static at times.

As of 0410 UTC, I now have the signal on my own radio using just the whip, but the fading and noise are worse than on the SDR, which no doubt has a better antenna.

Redhat played a canned ID at 0414 UTC, chatted a bit and went into "Abacab" by Genesis. Now listening via Northern Utah SDR, as the local fading got bad.

"Lisztomania" by Phoenix at 0421 UTC. Signal's currently booming into the Utah SDR I'm listening to. Canned ID at 0425 UTC, then "Banditos" by The Refreshments. After a quick ID, Redhat mentioned the upcoming song was a request then played "Feel Good Drag" by Anberlin.

After the song, at 0433 UTC, Redhat chatted a bit, played an ID and introduced the 3 Doors Down song "Loser." After that, at 0437 UTC, a bit of chatting into "Still in Love Song" by The Stills.

After a canned ID at 0441 UTC, "No Bullets Spent" by Spoon. After another ID at 0444 UTC, "Bittersweet" by Fuel. At 0448 UTC, Redhat talked a bit about modern rock, read a reception email, talked about his previous transmitter woes and recapped the last few songs over background electronic music.

OK, off to a late dinner ...

... And back from dinner at 0526 UTC, just in time to hear a remix of Motorcycle's "As the Rush Comes," which is an all-time favorite of mine. That song's lived on my iPod for a decade now. At 0536 UTC, "Ghost Voices" by Virtual Self after a bit of inter-song chatter by Redhat.

Then I sat back and listened to the songs, ones by Goo Goo Dolls, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Nigel Stanford and Filter among them. Around 0615 UTC, Redhat gave a long list of shoutouts (including to me) and said his goodbyes as The Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony" swelled. Signoff after an ID around 0626 UTC. I listened to this last part via the local SDR again up here; the signal was weak but audible.

Good as always to hear ya! Glad that doing this is "your vacation."

Still doing great on Sigma's kiwiw, +10 or higher at times.

I was thinking about requesting this very 3 Doors Down song, believe it or not.

You’re a class act, Redhat.

Senseless conflict has no place here.  We're all here for the same reasons, great music and comaraderie.  Lets do what we can to keep it that way.

Red Hat... thank you so much for the great program tonight. This gets the Boogieman Seal of Broadcasting Approval" and is what real radio is supposed to be. Wonderful playlist with major variety and freshness, wonderful sounding processing and you have a "great set of tubes" to quote one of my former PD's. This is what a pirate station should strive to imitate! Thank you so much, sir! You weren't even slowed down by jokers messing with your signal... total class operation in my book.

Years ago, I worked at a station which played the album version of Nights in White Satin at sign off... I always thought that was the perfect sign-off song... until I heard Verve's song used... perfect!

Good night sir and I hope to spend your "vacation" with you again soon, because it's MY vacation too!
