Beacon HI 4094.0, 1400 UTC, 26 Jan 2020
« on: January 26, 2020, 1427 UTC »
Beacon sending HI about every 9.6 seconds, 4094.0 kHz, 1400 UTC, 26 January, 2020.

This beacon has been on this freq a couple of days, not sure when I first noticed it.  For sure it was not there (at least not heard here) last Saturday as I have recordings of this chunk of spectrum from that night.  However last night I realized I did not have it in the log, and a little further research seemed to indicate it was a new beacon.  Possibly just a beacon that has changed freq, since there was a previous HI on 8009 kHz and other freqs in the past.

The freq is pretty tight, but does change a bit.  In the last 24 hours or so I have seen it anywhere from 4093.95 to 4094.06 kHz

Had not heard HI here on 4094 until your post alerted me to it.  Nice signal here at 1450 utc this morning.  I have usually heard another HI on 8009 but its been missing for awhile and this may be why.  Will keep an ear out for it here!  Tnx!

Not sure when, but sometime in the last couple hours HI has shifted from 4094 back to 8009 kHz.  Between the last time I checked (slightly after 1500 UTC) and a few minutes ago (about 1600 UTC) the signal appears to have left 4095.0 kHz (at least I can no longer hear it there) and now HI, with the same code speed and spacing, is on 8009.7 kHz.

Time will tell if this is an automated shift at a specific time or after sunup, or if the op shifted it manually.  Personally I would do it auto, detect when sun is on the solar cell and shift freq for daytime operation.

(edit)  Off 8009 and back over to 4094 sometime before 0045z.
