UNID BC, 4460KHz
« on: November 27, 2008, 0421 UTC »
Last night I caught a station fading rather sharply around 1200 UTC on 4460KHz.

News report being given in english by a lady with a strong New Zealand or Australian accent with the main announcer being male speaking a version of english with a thick Latin accent.

No other South American stations coming in at the time, but real pipsqueak Asian stations were (China and Korea were slaughtering the normally booming Radio Australia on channels they shared), so I rule out the Peruvian on this frequency, but can't find a listing for an Australasian one ???

Any ideas?

Peace!

Carrier, weak audio on 4460, too faint to ID here in Texas around 0920z this morning.  Will try again when there's less noise.

The only logging Google turned up within the last year was:

Quote
4750,00 1724- 13/10/2007 3 CHN V.of China,Xian-Px mx in //4460 kHz

But I heard nada on 4750 ???

It would put it in the area of the propagation that night.

Peace!

** edit **

Confirmed as China this morning as 4460 mirrored the much stronger R. China on 5030 KHz :)
