More LRA36 tests
« on: July 12, 2020, 2152 UTC »
They will be "testing" on the next 2 Saturdays July 18 and July 25. They will be on the usual frequency of 15475.98 kHz in USB from 17:00-23:00 UTC. Yesterday test was supposed to be in USB but it was in the usual carrier+USB mode.

I heard them with an excellent signal via Brasilia remote. They started before 17:00, as early as 16:00. and they were off when I rechecked at 18:50. Also wasn't in USB but in CUSB . I thought the whole point was to test if USB works better than CUSB. Whatever they did the signal in Brasilia was pretty good.

Hey, I FINALLY remembered to tune in and try to hear one of these LRA36 tests!

Listening via the CX8BIT SDR in Montevideo, Uruguay, and as of 2023 UTC, I'm hearing Spanish ballad music, fair at the peaks but fading in and out somewhat on 15475.90 USB.

2034 UTC: Somewhat faster-paced song in Spanish, possibly after a bit of talking that was all but inaudible.

2040 UTC: Now listening via SDR in Sao Bernardo do Campo, Brazil. Reception's about the same: weak, but fair at the peaks, with lots of music.

No sign of the signal directly here near Seattle, obviously.

UPDATE: I posted a minute of video from the LRA36 broadcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEy_TT8RHrw
