RNZI 7245 am 1125 utc 28 Mar 2021 - A21 Frequency
« on: March 28, 2021, 1130 UTC »
Good reception, surprisingly  :D.  This A21 frequency is being beamed at this hour weekdays only toward Papua New Guinea (according to their website) and not the Pacific (direction of beam I normally receive).  Tried receiving since 1000 utc, just started coming in with good clarity with their, of course, English service.

RNZI A21 frequencies: https://www.rnz.co.nz/international/listen

1125 "When a Man Loves a Woman" Percy Sledge
1128 "Astounding Moon" Tim Finn
1143 Reception has slipped to hovering a couple of steps above noise floor.

No reception at 1259 utc on 6170 here.

Interesting observation as the time of this broadcast is still on a Sunday and not Mon - Fri as noted on RNZ's posted schedule. Unfortunately, the available EiBi shortwave schedules is still B20, Winter 2020/2021.

12:28 UTC - The transmitter is reaching Toronto, Ontario Canada with an S6 ~ S8 signal; fair reception;
12:50 UTC - Some slight QRM from amateur radio stations; "CQ contest from NT0EE" on 7240.0 kHz LSB & a QSO on 7251.0 kHz LSB;
12:58 UTC - RNZI jingle ID; announced broadcast was switching to 6170 kHz followed by carrier off.

RNZI 6170 AM 1159 UTC 28 March 2021

13:00 UTC - RNZI jingle ID followed by time pips and international news;
13:02 UTC - RNZI was initially heard but is now being over taken by a Cuban broadcast.

I had email exchanges with the RNZ Frequency Manager over the "unscheduled" broadcast noted above, the correspondence concluded this way:

Me: "But the schedule indicates there is no broadcast by RNZ on Sundays in the 1100 utc hour during A21, direction not pertinent."

Frequency Manager: "Thank you I see what you mean. There was a missing entry."

Link in post above has been corrected by RNZ to reflect missing transmission on weekends.
