Unid FM station web stream relay 6925
« on: August 19, 2012, 0530 UTC »
8/19/12, 6925 USB, 0515z: Unid station relaying what sounds like live/realtime web feed for a Fargo, ND, FM station.  Mention of Bob Dylan and some Dylan music, current time of 12:27 AM at 0527z.
0531z: Announcer talking about in-studio recording of song just played?  Difficult copy due to fluttery peaks/fades.

Fair to good via midwest tuner, not much QRN, some fades to barely audible with strong peaks.

Faded in around 0500, and out around 0530z. Definitely AM.

0506 OM talking "good morning ... Florida"
0508 "August 19th... one of the great midwestern legends of rock and roll... right here in town... he'll be appearing live" (a quick web search showed that Dylan indeed has a concern in Fargo on the 19th)
0512 Bob Dylan "Positively 4th Street"

I was not sure if this is an actual station on 6925, or a return of my mysterious overnight mixing product. I only heard what sounded like audio from one station, and it was about S7 on peaks. I was going to log this as an UNID until I saw Lex's post.

I now wonder if some of the overnight carriers I've noticed on 6925, sometimes with faint audio, are not mixing products, but actual transmissions that aren't being logged.

I was afraid Fansome's evil spirit had taken over my SDR again.

It could be,Chris. I used to do audio tests in the middle of the night. I'd hook a recorder to a receiver, then take the Grenade out for a ride in the truck using a Hamstick.

I got a few interesting reports that surprised me,including one over a thousand miles away reporting a steady but weak signal.

There were always a few guys lurking on the band at that time of night, mainly bs'ing and playing things for each other.

Heard with some really nice peaks on a recorder catch, and generally during the music.  Always seemed to be in a fade during the DJ segments.  I cannot catch an ID, but there were several ments of "Modern Rock and Roll Live", so perhaps show name or station slogan?

Recorder catch:

6925 USB SIO 222-323

Weak to decent signal with fading taking signal in and out of noise floor - similar details as others.

05:05z-05:32z UNID FM relay
