Not exactly DX, but this is something I have been hearing for a year or two, but until today never been able to positively ID. It's a college radio station, 8.5 miles away, that supposedly uses a 20 watt carrier current transmitter system.

Carrier current must get out a bit better than they say in the info available on the web.  Nice catch.

You ever hear many other Part 15 broadcasters?

I know there are a few of them that could be within DX range of me if conditions were just right (at least according to a Part 15 enthusiast site)... but I've never been able to log one yet, though.

Here's the Part 15 site I referred to:
http://www.hobbybroadcaster.net/stations/united_states_03.html
An AM radio Boombox DXer.
+ GE SRIII, PR-D5 & TRF on MW.
The usual Realistic culprits on SW (and a Panasonic).

I'm not sure that I have heard any other Part 15 broadcasters. I do recall hearing one supposedly Part 15 station run by a high school near Baltimore, but shortly after several DXers reported hearing it, it went off the air, the rumor was it was not exactly Part 15 compliant :-)

IIRC WMCR (which AFAIK is not an FCC issued call sign, I think WMCR belongs to a station in update NY) claims a 6 mile range on their website, which does seem excessive for Part 15.
