Good signal from New Orleans into MI this morning at dawn on the car radio.
Talking about preparations for approaching storm Ida. 
They were on the air all during Katrina with first hand reports to the outside world...
still a place for AM radio.
Hopefully this will turn out to be a non-event, but it could get interesting.

Pinto - the supposedly Cuban 'Wobbler' is active on 870 this evening.  I heard it last night, too.

Hmmm... heard a loud warbling signal on 870 last night that sometimes faded a bit to reveal some Spanish.
The RR in Morse was then also audible every minute...  who would want to jam WWL and Reloj ???

Never did hear WWL last night or this morning.  Are they on the air ?  idk
Apparently most of the area around there is without power due to a downed transmission tower.
Seems odd there is only one feed for a whole city.
Also seems odd WWL wouldn't have a backup generator.  Maybe its just propagation.

WWL is on tonight speculating about restoration of the power system and it's clear none of the participants knows anything about power generation or distribution.   

From my listening sessions this week they have been on-air throughout the hurricane.

The Wobbler is doing its thing again tonight with a slow QSB adding to its oddness.

If anyone wants to catch it in action, tonight is the night.  It is peaking up nicely over WWL

WWL has a big signal in here this morning at sunrise on the car radio.
Talking about portable generator safety.
No interference was heard.
