Newcomer and HF Log
« on: November 24, 2012, 1616 UTC »
Hello everyone, my first posting here, I have been an active HF user for 38 years but please bear with me. I am not a numbers fan, and don't know my E6's from my E7's ;)

In my daily HF monitoring I do snag the odd unknown numbers station which may be of interest here.

Logged one yesterday (23rd Nov) on 16291kHz @ 1615z, I just caught the tail end of the transmission 5F groups Male/English/Euro accent.

Message ends: 613 613 48 48 -- 00000 (2 sec pause between 48 and the zero's) - Offair at 1617z

I do have an audio cut, if that could be uploaded somewhere ?

Regards
oldtimer

Hi Oldtimer,

Welcome.  For me, the numbers stations are becoming more rare.  I guess we can thank technology and secure methods of communications for that.  I just upload my catches to youtube and then you can post the link to your video.  I'd love to hear it.  73's.

Hi Oldtimer :)

This is E06 who occasionally shows up near/on 6925 depending on the season.  Nice catch!

Nice catch indeed.

I've been listening to the spy numbers stations on & off for years, but only ever hear the Cuban one with any regularity these days. Can't remember the last time I heard an English one on the air.

If you don't already know, there's a spy numbers web site with a database:
