Two End-fed Sloper Questions

 1. What difference does putting the coax connection on the high end or low end make?
 2. How should it be oriented in relation to a transmitter?

Good day Gern,

For receive only purposes, the feed point can be placed at either end of the antenna. Traditionally, the end-fed sloper is fed at the elevated end and there are several technical reasons for that. The only time you would need to feed an end-fed sloper on the elevated side is if you were building a terminated end-fed antenna. Obviously you would not want the terminating resistor some 40 feet off the ground. An example of this can be seen here:
