PVC + Heat Gun
« on: February 12, 2022, 1849 UTC »
I'm sure I'm the last person on the planet to realize that you can simply heat the ends of PVC with a heat gun (or whatever), soften them, and work different diameters together.
To make a 20 meter 1/4 wave vertical, for example, that's not all bendy. Well, not AS bendy.

I hadn't thought about this in a long time, but this reminded me of taking smaller diameter PVC conduit and carefully placing it near or inside of Diesel bucket truck exhaust pipe and shaping it for slight bends. Worked fine, but you really had to strike while the iron was hot. Haven't done that in 20 years or so.
