WFDR 6900 USB 0015 UTC 27 MAR 2022
« on: March 27, 2022, 0016 UTC »
Tuned in on Normal IL sdr with fair S5 to S7 signal, FDR speech about sending planes, ships and other military good to Europe, at 0047 said slowly "W,F,D,R, good night". Thanks for the bit of history.

Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com

Excellent reception

May 26, 1940 Fireside Chat

0025 "...our armies of 1933..."
0029 "Therefore, the air forces should continue to be part of the Army and Navy."
0030 "Even as a cruiser slides down the launching ways, plans for improvement, plans for increased efficiency in the next model, are taking shape in the blue-prints of designers."
0045 "Day and night I pray for the restoration of peace in this mad world of ours. It is not necessary that I, the President, ask the American people to pray in behalf of such a cause—for I know you are praying with me. I am certain that out of the heart of every man, woman and child in this land, in every waking minute, a supplication goes up to Almighty God; that all of us beg that suffering and starving, that death and destruction may end—and that peace may return to the world. In common affection for all mankind, your prayers join with mine—that God will heal the wounds and the hearts of humanity."

0047 "WFDR, Goodnight" and off
