There was a Saturday morning net on 40 meters devoted to pirate radio for years. The internet killed it about '02.

You could always count on Jimmy The Weasel breaking in several times with a song or two.

I used to talk Pirate stuff with hams, even mentioned it on my QRZ.com bio. The bunneh bunch took that as proof that I must be a well known Pirate relay service and set out to destroy me. They devoted an astonishing amount of effort to it and are still poking around webpages and facebook accounts. So now I'm more careful who I talk to.

Anybody interested in starting up an informal net again?

How about trying 18.165 2300z Sundays?

There's no contesting allowed on 17m so it should be quiet.

Ok, 18.165 is being used...I'm on 160 listening.  Seems there may be someone on 160 too...I'll look around the band a bit, seems a bit crowded at the moment.

I'm just listening to some ESSB guys on 18.133..gotta love kenwood's transmit audio.

Edit:  Wife's calling, dinner time...Maybe another time..

nevermind, try another. Tight band on 40 tonight especially with the guys feeling the need to operate up to 6/KHz wide

Hmm...80?  How bout say 3830?

Eh, band's kind of noisy, almost s20 static level.  Storms rolling through the area.  I'll make a couple of calls.

Edit:  0022z; don't know if my 100 watts is going to make it with the noise level.

0036z:  Ok, maybe another time...Pulling the plug for the evening.  Have a good evening, everyone.
