6919.9 AM Numbers & 6935 CW 18:53z - 19:54z 26 Jan
« on: January 26, 2013, 2031 UTC »
Hi folks, I noted CW numbers on 6935 at approximately 18:53z - they were sent slow, no more than 10WPM.

They stopped sending after I had been on freq for less than a minute.

I began turning the dial again - and quickly came across an English accented YL reading numbers on 6919.9 AM.

Groups as follow:
Code: [Select]
71462 97402 75808 34229
76316 35529 75808 76215
35729 33224 51248 32918
23955 70658 76120 32918
32946 34329 81711 35829
75922 36229 72165 86511
32955 70660 87110 34129
81711 90473 32949 71063
34229 81565 86804 32939
34229 75906 97503 76219
32918 32942 71561 35629

I happened to be taking this down on a notepad, as above - 4X11 - and as you may quickly notice, 3 groups were repeated, such that they appeared directly beside each other, a cursory glance also shows that 81711 was also repeated - and there may be a lot more, but I haven't given this much analysis.

Anyway - at the end of the 44 groups, some DTMF & various noises were spewed - and the cycle began again.

The repetition of certain groups probably points to a sloppy effort at a numbers station, or a clever one - perhaps this is coded rather than ciphered & as such, meant to be unravelled.

Anyway this pattern continued until around 19:45Z.

Shortly after it switched off (mid group if I remember correctly) - Chris noted the CW was on 6935 again, so I began taking down the
groups being sent:

Code: [Select]
26862 88514 84820 87028
89951

Then the groups stopped and the following was sent
Code: [Select]
bt imi imi bt 27 27 bt
21322 50848 87191 18668
58762 08301 06515 28768
74068 55253 50525 15386
14268 62674 76951 95191
35944 11901 81357 26922
10380 26862

I've done no analysis on these numbers - but note a couple of things: bt 27 27 made me assume there would be 27 groups, there were only 22.

However - I only copied the last 5 groups on the previous CW transmission - so, are they the missing 5, or was it just a coincidence?

Anyway this stopped at 19:54 - and at the time of writing, I have heard neither the voice or cw numbers since.

I suspect the transmissions are from the same source. The voice was similar to E03's - but not the same - E03 put emphasis on the final number in each group, this station did not have a similar refinement.

Disclaimer: it's entirely possible that I took a number down wrong, or entered it wrongly here - so if you're trying to do statistical analysis, you might want to factor that in!
