UNID CW 6925 tx's
« on: February 07, 2013, 1705 UTC »
Wanted to start a log of these late night UNID CW tx's - I keep hearing these off & on between 05:00z-07:00z time frame with usually a faint signal.  I believe it has been noted that some of these are just ‘VVV’ being sent or someone just rhythmically hitting the key.  I’m not very good at discerning code so please feel free to decipher.  My hunch is that these are not pirate, but one never knows :)

Edit (2/8):  Also have noticed there is usually a carrier or low frequency tone that seems to be present before the CW begins - it may not be connected to the morse activity, but it's worth noting.

I noticed these as well, also some slightly lower than 6925 kHz, down around 6921 or so. I've also noticed some CW around 6915, and elsewhere in the 6800-7000 range (courtesy of my nightly SDR recordings). Some of them were apparently French, according to some folks on the #wunclub IRC channel. Others appear to be someone else. Some of the CW is obviously hand sent, with uneven spacing and frequent errors.

I am not sure who is behind these transmissions, but I have noticed an uptick in CW activity in the 43 meter band.
