I'm a NYC native, Pigmeat. Coney Island is in Brooklyn, the most known Queens beaches are all of the Rockaways - Corona is mid-Queens, landlocked. There is nothing, per se, "on" Coney Island. Coney Island is a populated section of southern Brooklyn unto itself, not an island. City, Randalls, Wards, Roosevelt, Manhattan, Staten, Rikers, Governors are all islands in NYC. Coney, no. Coney was once an island but was connected to the mainland with fill about a hundred years ago, it is now a peninsula. Besides Coney Island, Brighton Beach and Manhattan Beach are on the Coney Island peninsula. However, the entire peninsula is never referenced by locals, rather the communities on it are cited.
There will be a quiz on all the aforementioned at 0200 utc just after BallSmacker's NYC-themed-program, no open laptop. 🤣
