Noting beacon on 6920, about 20/minute, about 62mSec long, S5 signal.  Off around 1642z.

I also noted this on 20Mar13 at 2351z (also on 6920) but had to run out the door and forgot to post it.

This seems to be the return of our mysterious ditter network. I had it on over about two dozen frequencies today until it went QRT at 1724z.

I logged it here: http://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,10533.0.html

Although perhaps the HF beacon forum is more appropriate?

Dunno.  I was thinking about moving it over to "Other".  Tried your freq list but none of those heard here.

They seem to be gone now. I suspect the DoD contractors went home for the weekend :-)

The fact that the 4 and 5 MHz frequencies were S9 here makes me think that the location is within a few hundred miles of my QTH.

I didn't realize that the single freq I heard was part of a bigger operation.  I know now to do a further search above and below next time.  Thanks!

When searching for them, I use an SDR, often in 500 kHz wide mode, to make it easy to step through HF. I'll sometimes also use a desktop radio in parallel, tuned to one of the nearby active ditter frequencies, so I can hear that transmission as well, and know about when a dit should appear on the waterfall, if there are other frequencies in use.
