Signal is 8/10 on the meter with the 30ish feet of wire in a tall tree. I have heard about these weird broadcasts, only Chinese instrumental music from 2300-0000 UTC with an announcement at 2358 UTC in Portuguese. As far as I know this is the only music-only program on CRI. Curious if they really have people listening to this is Brazil (the target area), or anywhere. I personally enjoy it but the only other time I have heard about this specific program was someone complaining about it in the Worldwide DX Club News and calling it something like "the pointless Chinese elevator music broadcast I often complain about".

2345 UTC-寒鸦戏水 by 蘭維薇
2358 UTC-Man talking in Portuguese, giving frequency and mention of “ondas cortas” (shortwave), other talk
0000 UTC-Time pips cut off, TX still on but no audio

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.

Careful w/ those "Chinese Elevator Music" comments. I've heard Chinese covers of "Hey Jude" and "Fly Me To The Moon" w/ "Engrish" lyrics that were quite entertaining. Perfect for have a a meal of Kung Pow Chicken or Mongolian Pork with.

That wasn’t me saying that, that was a quote from the Worldwide DX Club publication.

S9+30 with the Northern Utah KiwiSDR.

2345 UTC-寒鸦戏水 by 蘭維薇
2349 UTC-Rainbow Skirt Dance by Jiangsu Folk Orchestra
2354 UTC-A Visit to Suzhou by Yu Xunfa
2358 UTC-茉莉花 by 韋嵐笛, man speaking in Portuguese over the music
0000 UTC-Start of the CRI interval signal, cut off
0000 UTC-OFF

This appears to be the same program again. Why broadcast the same program repeatedly? I will continue to monitor and see if it is always the same, or just today. Just a note because I know someone will ask, this is NOT the Firedrake jammer (different music and from a relay in Cuba).

Looks like this is the programming of all CRI in Portuguese? The two frequencies scheduled for now are 6100 & 9710 kHz (both direct from China) and they are carrying the same music programing.
