Jan 17, from 0621 to 0658* UT; at 0624, PSAs in both English and Bislama (in emergency, lists of six things to
do; #2 - Boil water, etc.); 0631, the often heard singing station ID (" . . Kingdom of Tonga . . Solomon Islands . .
Voice of Papua New Guinea . . Radio Vanuatu"); 0652, the usual series of ads., PSA, promos, etc.

Jan 18, from 0645 to 0658* UT (a few seconds before 0659); 0655, the usual mental health PSA in Bislama.

For January 19 - Check for coverage of the following:

"Tropical Cyclone Warning Number 6 issued by the Vanuatu Meteorology and Geo-Hazards
Department, Port Vila at 9:32am VUT Thursday 19 January 2023.

At 8:00am local time, Tropical Cyclone Irene (Cat 2) was located at
19.2 degrees South 168.7 degrees East. This is about 65KM south southwest of
Erromango and 70KM west northwest of Tanna. Tropical Cyclone Irene is positioned at  
top right corner of the square letter I,number 10 (I,10) of the Vanuatu Tropical
Cyclone Tracking Map. In the past 3 hours, Tropical Cyclone Irene was moving
in an east southeasterly direction at 36KM/HR (20KTS).

The central pressure of the system is estimated at 984hPa. Expected sustained winds
close to the centre are estimated at 100KM/HR (55KTS). The Tropical Cyclone Irene
is expected to be at 21.1 degrees South 172.4 degrees East within the next 12 hours.

Damaging gale force winds of 75KM/HR (40KTS) with gusts up to 105KM/HR (55KTS)
will continue to affect the area within 140 nuatical mile Northeast from the
center of the system and is expected to affect TAFEA and SHEFA. The system is
expected to maintain intensity in the next 6 to 12 hours.

Storm force winds of 90KM/HR (50KTS) with gusting up to 130KM/HR (70KTS) are
also expected within 100 nautical miles Northeast from the center of the system.

Heavy rainfalls with flash flooding over low lying areas, areas close to
the river banks, including coastal flooding expected to continue to affect the
group.

Seas will remain very rough to phenomenal with heavy to phenomenal swells
throughout Vanuatu. People, including sea going vessels are advised not to go
out to sea until the system has moved further away from the area. The Marine
strong wind warning is current over all coastal waters while High seas warning
is current for open waters west of Vanuatu.

Office of the NDMO advices that Red Alert is in effect for SHEFA and TAFEA, Yellow
Alert is in effect for MALAMPA, Blue Alert is in effect for SANMA, PENAMA and TORBA.
Any actions regarding these alerts, contact NDMO on 33366.
 
The Vanuatu Meteorology and Geo-Hazards Department is closely monitoring the
system and will issue the next warning on Tropical Cyclone Irene at 12:00pm"

Jan 19 - Radio Vanuatu anomaly; 7890 (2nd harmonic) // 11835 (3rd harmonic), on these frequencies earlier
than the normal *0659 UT, so today ex: 7260; on 3945, very poor/unusable; heard 0627-0810 UT; extensive
special coverage of Tropical Cyclone Irene, with latest info as to location and wind speeds, which were often
repeated twice; "strong wind warning . . take extra precautions . . listen to Radio Vanuatu . ."; frequent lists of
things to do during an emergency (#8 - wash hands, etc.); CODAR QRM on 11835; news/sports in Bislama at
0701-0718.

Radio Vanuatu’s 3rd harmonic is making it here decently at 1835 UTC Jan 21st in Alaska  with just instrumental music.  This is a new time of day logging for them, but ve never heard 11835 this early, it’s been a night time thing.  The fundamental 3945 is reportedly only 2.5KW. The harmonic situation has been going on for 3-4 years
