Free Radio Santa Cruz (relay by TRI) 6925 AM 1653 UTC 12 FEB 2023

[refmo]

S7 carrier, decent copy with "Liberation Frequency" by Refused @ 1654.  Occasional deep fades.
1657 - YL announcement 'this is an unauthorized....'. Fades getting more frequent.
1658 - "Free Radio Gainesville" by Hot Water Music.  Nice copy on the short peaks.
1704 - "Pirate Radio" Mojo Nixon.  Signal propagation is deteriorating, mostly poor copy.  Still decent on the occasional peak.
1706 - "We Want the Airwaves" Ramones
1742 - nice peak with ID and talking with an operator that had recently (1995) been raided by FCC.

Thanks for the relays, TRI.

1705 UTC OM speaking followed by a familiar punk tune..."We Want the Airwaves"-Ramones

(Signal is mostly solid above the high noise with moderate fades)

1722 UTC YL with spoken word
1728 UTC OM and YL speaking....sadly, it's rough copy. Seem to be talking about a free radio operation
1731 UTC OM with "It's an on air rebellion"
1734 UTC Signal cleared up quite a bit...YL talking about San Francisco
1736 UTC Clear ID as Free Radio Santa Cruz

Thanks for the relay TRI! That was another one I've never heard, although I recall the story about Radio Free Burlington in VT...I wish propagation had been better!
