Um... How about the spectrum-wide noise levels on Medium Wave? That's still kind of a factor.

And, more AM Radio World responses. The info on what happened to Leonard Kahn is interesting. https://www.radioworld.com/columns-and-views/readers-forum/readers-have-much-to-say-about-am

THANKS again, for FWD that Boomer!

The best two statements of advice that I've ever gotten are from my brother-in-law in the early 1990's. 1st one, when I bought a used '89 Olds Cutless, my bro-in-law said, "Congratulations!!! You've just bought a deficit!". The other, was on a work environment, " No matter where you go, it's going to be f***'ed -up!". No truer words have been spoken.

The "Share" numbers in the article don't lie.  Advertising killed MW radio - Not just the preponderance of ads but the relentless repetition and vacuous nature of the spots borders on the unbearable.  Don't these PM's listen to their own stations?

Thanks for the article - great post.

I don't do MW DX'ing primarily because, with my small suburban setup, I can't get anything but North American stations. Of the ones broadcasting in English that do reach me, they nearly all air the same stuff. What's the point?
