Greatest Hits Radio 1107x2 AM 1808 UTC 14 MAY 2023

edit by Ray, the original subject was :
Greatest Hits Radio 2215 AM

I'm not sure if this is my radio doing weird things or someone is relaying this, it's a UK national licenced MW station but obviously normally in the conventional MW band. I'm picking up some other foreign stations way down in 2000khz range. I have a tecsun pl330. Can anyone else pick this up??? I'm in Embo NE Scotland.

I checked an SDR in the UK and got nothing, I think it's your radio.

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using a Hermes Lite 2 with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet.

Weird I think it might be something with the chip in the radio as when I did a search online someone else has noticed picking up Vatican radio on 2275khz on an xhdata, I was also finding Vatican radio on that frequency. I can only assume they have the same chip and are not behaving would be too much of a coincidence otherwise

Greatest Hits has a transmitter on 1107 kHz at Tarbat Ness, which I see is close to Embo. It is probably the first harmonic, which would put it on 2214 kHz. Before RTE closed on 252 kHz, I used to hear a strong harmonic on 504, and a weaker one on 756. Google "DXing Medium Wave Harmonics" for more information on the subject.

So it's the 2nd harmonic, on 2214

Harmonics heard far away are to be kept on the forum,
but for those heard only near the station, that should be avoided.

+/- : about 0.02 offset, ++/-- 0.03/0.04 offset

Can the Vatican Radio reception be explained by the harmonics theory? I was picking that up too on 2275khz.
