Radio Static 6930 USB 0040 18 June 2023
« on: June 18, 2023, 0041 UTC »
Rock music in very noisy conditions.

S4 and just above static floor.  Fading to almost fair then very poor with lightning QRN.

Rock music - fading in and out with serious lightning QRN. 0049 'Day Tripper' - Beatles … waterfall image (wasn't ready), 0058 peak or signal increase, 'Fever' - The Strangers, Easypal image (didn't decode here), song, ID and talk by Op, 'Cuttin' Out' - Pirates, SSTV (abstract impressionism), 'Heart Attack' - Jack the Ripper 2, ID, "Music of the 60's", more guitar work, Op - "It's Radio Static", more 60's guitar, 'Lively One' - The Passions, SSTV (poor decode.), 'Run, Run, Run' - The Gestures, "Leeroy says 'hope you enjoy Radio Static'" having fun with the summer conditions, 'Psycotic Reaction' - Count Five ...

0221 Op closing program SSTV (radio with "Radio Static"), off.

Sorry, heard the ID wrong.  (Too much static.)

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.

Here is some video taken between 0105 and 0220 UTC, with some of Radio Static's broadcast. The receivers used were getting a weak but readable signal, but the programming was fun to hear. IQ spectrum recording was good enough for some SSTV capture near the end of the video.
