RNZ 7425 AM 1125 UTC 9 SEP 2023 - Jimmy Buffet Concert

Good reception - all songs by Jimmy Buffet before live audience, one song flows right to the other without expected album pause between songs, no DJ/Host, Buffet has some chit chat with crowd between tunes.  Maybe this is a concert that took place in NZ.

1128 "Southern Cross"
1133 "Cheeseburger in Paradise"
1137 "Come Monday"
1139 "Brown Eyed Girl"
1146 "The Cup Chalice"
1157 "Margaritaville"
1200 Time pips straight to news (no info on Buffet concert), ID, Moroccan earthquake

I record these RNZ Saturday Night request shows overnight as I think you know - currently it runs from 0700-1200 UTC, but it's set to local NZ time (7p to midnight there) so the UTC time will shift to 0600-1100z when they go on Summer Time in a few weeks. I'll tell you what the concert info was when I hear it on the playback. For now, I'll say that the last hour of the show is usually "Late Night Phil" if regular host Phil O'Brien is running the show (his guest hosts don't do it) and is often live performances by an artist who may have been in the news recently, as Buffet's passing was.

Sept 1st was a truly sad day for us ParrotHeads.  JB played countless times just 3 miles away from my home at Alpine Valley.  I always felt his  "Brown Eyed Girl"  version of Van Morrison's hit was one of the best covers ever..  "Tin Cup Chalice" is flat-out one of the finest ballads ever recorded and "I Love The Now"  off Floridays has been my number 1 Coral Reefer Band tune  for decades.  FYI, his last words before he passed away were to his sister: "Have fun".   
RIP, Jimmy B. you'll be forever missed.

They don't. They can't, due to copyright. I follow RNZ Saturday Night on Facebook and that issue has come up before.
