Mysterious Hum Driving People Crazy Around the World
« on: July 27, 2013, 1353 UTC »
It creeps in slowly in the dark of night, and once inside, it almost never goes away.

It's known as the Hum, a steady, droning sound that's heard in places as disparate as Taos, N.M.; Bristol, England; and Largs, Scotland.

But what causes the Hum, and why it only affects a small percentage of the population in certain areas, remain a mystery, despite a number of scientific investigations.

Reports started trickling in during the 1950s from people who had never heard anything unusual before; suddenly, they were bedeviled by an annoying, low-frequency humming, throbbing or rumbling sound.

The cases seem to have several factors in common: Generally, the Hum is only heard indoors, and it's louder at night than during the day. It's also more common in rural or suburban environments; reports of a hum are rare in urban areas, probably because of the steady background noise in crowded cities.

Only about 2 percent of the people living in any given Hum-prone area can hear the sound, and most of them are ages 55 to 70, according to a 2003 study by acoustical consultant Geoff Leventhall of Surrey, England.

Most of the people who hear the Hum (sometimes referred to as "hearers" or "hummers") describe the sound as similar to a diesel engine idling nearby. And the Hum has driven virtually every one of them to the point of despair.

"It's a kind of torture; sometimes, you just want to scream," retiree Katie Jacques of Leeds, England, told the BBC. Leeds is one of several places in Great Britain where the Hum has recently appeared.

"It's worst at night," Jacques said. "It's hard to get off to sleep because I hear this throbbing sound in the background … You're tossing and turning, and you get more and more agitated about it."

I have heard this before or something like it!

Several years ago around shortly before christmas,I started hearing an aweful low freq hum.. Around 30Hz ..No one else in my house heard it,it was diving me insane!

If I left my house the hum was gone so it was something around my house or something!

It lasted for a couple months and then went away Thank goodness... I have heard various other humming freqs but thank goodness nothing like that first one and I wonder if thats what they hear constantly in Taos? (Around 30Hz)

I think 30Hz is about the lowest we can hear and freqs that low drive you insane if you can hear them!!!

Is this being done on purpose?? Low Freq mind control harrassment???

People who cant hear these sounds think we are crazy but we are not!!

Maybe those that can hear these sounds are more aware of the reality of things?

Hmmmmmm ( pun intended).

I don’t necessarily discount reports such as these.

But hard to really pin down:

Internet based “Mass” hysteria?

( “ Unusual “ ) Natural phenomena?

Intention electronic harassment or “Havana “ type
“ weapons”  tactics ( even those systems were supposedly on microwave RF).

Interesting that it generally isn’t experienced in urban areas.

Very true! It's called the Schumann Resonance, which is around 7.83 Hz. The Space Observing System 70 (https://sos70.ru/) in Tomsk, Russia measures these frequencies. The reason why people can hear/feel these hums is because they very sensitive to these frequencies. While I'm a sensitive to frequencies and energy in general, I don't really feel/hear the Schumann Resonance. It can effect me sometimes. A lot of this is related to what Earth is going through and its beings (plants, animals, us, rocks...).  I feel HFU isn't the place to talk about this though but it's something that I want to work with are these lower frequencies; what we make ourselves either from our minds, hearts, or the other parts of our bodies. To the point of seeing if we can "hear" the telepathy.

But from what was posted here, it doesn't sound like it's the Schumann Resonance. Sounds more man-made.

I dunno.. This is the general discussion message base,I think if we are gonna talk about it,this would be the best place :)

Thats interesting 7.83Hz??

How can anyone hear that?? -- Like I said about 30Hz is about as low as most can hear.. That first HUM I heard was deadfully aweful.. Right around 30 and no one else heard it..  My dad got mad at me cause I kept telling him I was hearing this and going crazy.. I couldnt block it out!!!

I dunno what it was, done on purpose???

Alot of things on this earth are a mystery...

It looks like there are 2 percent who are sensitive to 30 Hz or going to be sensitive and can hear it- that's all. I finally listened closely to the sound and the next part I would to tap into my intuition to get the answer...

It seems to be a ascension symptom...but it's doesn't sound like one if sticks around for more than how long a symptom can last. Note that I said can not should, I don't want to "judge" here. What it sounds like these people moved from noisy places to very, very quiet ones that allows them to sense more lower frequencies, anti-noise so to speak. It's not this though. If you compare it this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTRrlsfIJkA not so hummy, and what we can hear at 30. What is on that video in the article isn't that and does sound like it could be either man-made or some new sound is coming from Earth itself. I still am leaning on man-made.

I do agree that earth has it's "mysteries" but most of these are really lost knowledge that we once knew but was taken away from us, if you know what I mean... ;)

https://www.youtube.com/@LookoutfaCharlie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sgMuu2Z_So

This guy on youtube has been doing research on this stuff for years and he has a pretty decent explanation for it and for people that "hear voices". He has EQed several different audio sources including ones he's recorded of background noise using his own equipment and he can _always_ pull voices out of the background noise. His theory is that it's a weapons system being used by most (all?) the major Governmental powers/military that can be used to target both wide ares and individuals from long distances. The signals ride on noises in the environment so they can sometimes be heard by people susceptible to hearing them when they ride in on the power grid or things like refrigerator motors, hair dryers and A/C units. I've heard them myself in the past. They sound like sine-wave speech.

My guess is "the hum", the videos of people hearing things in the sky and most "crazy people" you see on youtube are just hearing this weapons system. The above channel has broken down several famous videos of "EVP phenomenons" and that old famous video of a bunch of guys in the woods claiming to hear bigfoots screaming and proven it's just the same system. His best guess is they started testing it in the late 60s-early 70s and that it got deployed regularly by the early-mid 90s really ramping up after the mid-2000s.

This weapons system aside: We've shit up the environment with so much artificial man made radio sources that I'm sure it has been impacting our health horribly in general since we first lit up the telegraphs, power grid and later general broadcasting. The above channel has several videos about how the military have hijacked the Schumann resonance and how it has been bad for everyone's health including the animals in general. There also a good book I've read titled "The Invisible Rainbow: A History of Electricity and Life" that pretty convincingly links major flu outbreaks to new parts of the spectrum getting lit up with man made sources.

Most people are totally unaware that the visual spectrum they're picking up with their eyes is just a very small portion of the wider spectrum we're using for communication and broadcasting. If your eyes could see what we're using for broadcasting and 2-way communication you wouldn't be able to see your hand in front of your face anymore. That's how much we've shit up the spectrum with nonsense.

I've heard this hum in town for YEARS.... mostly at night. However, in the last few years it hasn't mattered what time of day, though some days it's not there. From my own research, the most likely cause is underground oil lines, which we DO have here. That being said, I've heard it at our lake property, which DOES NOT have those pipelines running anywhere near by. Its just odd hearing it in the middle of the day in the middle of nowhere. My wife NEVER hears it.
