WWBR Worldwide Basement Radio 6915 AM 2300 UTC 02 Nov 2023
« on: November 02, 2023, 2313 UTC »
2300 - Strong carrier (S9+10) on the Vermont SDR but audio is incredibly weak. Just enough to perceive music but that that's about it.
2321 - I can tell they are playing "Eminence Front" at the moment but audio is still barely perceptible.
2348 - I had to step away for the last 25 minutes or so. Yes, modulation is a lot better, but seems to vary with time. Here's a spec plot from one of the moments of strong modulation, which shows a good level with sidebands ~ -25 to -30 dBc, which is perfect.

2349 - ID. I can hear some distortion and that tells me that the op has turned things up to about the point where you want to stop.  :D
2354 - Audio is weak again.
0003 - ID then into Motown ?
0011 - Rainbow, Stone Cold. Audio is still weak, probably comparable to 2321 UTC.
0023 - SSTV
0025 - TX off.

2319 UTC "Eminence Front"-The Who (S8 peaks amidst moderate noise and light fading...low modulation but excellent audio)
2325 UTC "Love Is the Answer-Todd Rundgren? (Modulation seems to have been increased)
2330 UTC "Heart and Soul"-Huey Lewis & The News? (Modulation picked up some more...a little bit of distortion)
(During the song the modulation was lowered a bit...I see from the other posts this is a cover version by Exile. Sadly I do not have Shazam.)
2336 UTC Sounded like an OM said something, followed by an Unid pop tune-OM singer
2340 UTC OM with an ID...only caught "Worldwide? ? Radio", followed by an Unid pop tune-OM singer
2343 UTC "I.G.Y."-Donald Fagen
2349 UTC OM with "Worldwide Basement Radio", followed by an Unid pop tune-OM singer & Whistling
2353 UTC OM with "WorldWide Basement Radio", followed by "Back In My Arms Again"-Supremes
(Signal dropped down a bit and the noise is heavy now)
2357 UTC Signal is deep in the noise  :(
0001 UTC Signal recovered nicely! "Jennifer Juniper"-Donovan
0004 UTC "It's Your Thing"-Isley Brothers
0006 UTC "I Got A Name"-Jim Croce
0009 UTC OM with ID, followed by a familiar song I forgot the name of...possibly "Stone Cold"-Rainbow?
0015 UTC OM with ID, followed by "Rock Me Gently"-Andy Kim (Signal is a nice S8 with full modulation now)
0018 UTC I forgot the name of this one...
0022 UTC OM with ID's, followed by a Scottie 1 SSTV

Great hearing you again WWBR!  8) Here's my recording from 2319-2357 UTC:

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using a Hermes Lite 2 with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet.
