Add to an AM CB NBFM Kit?
« on: Today at 19:14 »
https://www.spectrumcomms.co.uk/CB_Kits.htm  Scroll to the FMD455 FREQUENCY MOD-DEMOD.  I've bought two of these, since I have enough CB's as it is, I don't need to shell-out a C-Note for a newer AM / FM CB. So, here's how you could roll your own. You tap the 455Khz IF on the Receive side. On Transmit, tap the 10.240MHz master crystal, on the vari-CAP. BTW, how I came upon this is searching for a replacement VCO board to recondition an RCA SSB Co-Pilot #14T302 CB, and this place had that. So, if you don't want to sell-out money for a newer CB, with FM, this can be a way to go, kit-wise.
“I am often asked how radio works. Well, you see, wire telegraphy
is like a very long cat. You yank his tail in New York and he
meows in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? Now, radio is
exactly the same, except that there is no cat.”
-Attributed to Albert Einstein, but I ripped it from the latest Splatter .PDF March 2025 issue.
