An LM386 Audio Amp, with Audio AGC Circuit?
« on: December 05, 2025, 1928 UTC »
https://ganymedeham.blogspot.com/2013/08/lm386-amp-with-agc.html    That schematic is kind of vague, but that feedback loop, with 10uF CAP in it is from pins 1 and 8. Output is pin 5. And, pin 2 is Audio IN. Pins 3 and 4 are tied to Ground. And VCC is +12VDC on pin 6. Pin 7 is N/C. Still, I like the simplicity of this. (Boomer, helped fill-in the pins on this one.)

“I am often asked how radio works. Well, you see, wire telegraphy
is like a very long cat. You yank his tail in New York and he
meows in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? Now, radio is
exactly the same, except that there is no cat.”
-Attributed to Albert Einstein, but I ripped it from the latest Splatter .PDF March 2025 issue.

That's a crap circuit.  It'll just clip and distort.  If you want a proper audio AGC, it's a bit more complicated than that awful circuit.

Indeed. Simple rarely means Good.

The LM386 is crap anyway. There's much better devices.

Please dont ever show a receiver with sn NE612 in the front end.

Str.
'It's better to give than receive' so why Rx when you can Tx!
