Cleveland Ohio Toynbee Tile
« on: February 04, 2024, 2343 UTC »
After last weeks broadcast of "Radiophonic Convector from Toynbee laboratories relayed by Cloudsplitter Radio", I looked up more information about Toynbee Tiles. It turned out that there were Toynbee Tiles discovered in Cleveland. So, I looked that up and as of 2014 there was still one in Cleveland at the corner of Prospect and West 3rd street. A 2019 image of the area on Google street view showed that it was still there. The wife and I went there this morning and it was. A little worn but still interesting.

So, I am in Greater Cleveland visiting my older son and thought I'd update the status of the Toynbee Tile here.  I have learned there might be three - all on West Prospect/Prospect, though the latter two could be an imitator.  Though "HOH" on last 2 could be "House of Hades". Photos all taken May 15, 2024.

On a side note, there might have been a Toynbee Tile at an I-95 rest area in Branford, CT about 10 miles from my home but may have been paved over.  🤦‍♂️

Prospect/E. 14 St. - most closely reflects Toynbee Tiles

Prospect/E. 4 St.

West Prospect/ W. 3 St.  Does not resemble myteaquinn post, a lot of construction/roadwork here for new Sherman-Williams HQ - maybe original paved over?
