« on: April 11, 2024, 1907 UTC »
1905 East European music and W talking via German SDR
1906 "What is love baby dont hurt me" W talking Language sounds East European
1913 "Free Bird" Lynyrd Skynyrd
Audio 1 : Anyone know this station or language : https://voca.ro/19X0ONRnZ347
1924 Starting to fade out due to poor propagation

late edit by Ray : Achim got an UNID on 6258 at 1918 UTC :
2 min of audiolog, very noisy and distorted via SDR in UK,
music seems the same track than on vocaroo above,
and someone is talking, mixed with music and noise, maybe in Polish

new edit : Same station, not on 6260, but on 6258 (Achim has better readings)
See reply below.
Thus I change the subject : not UNID (PL) 6260 AM ,  but UNID  6258 AM

Listening to Short and Medium Wave broadcasts since 1962 as a DXer. Nowadays I listen to 48 and 49 meters mainly for interesting stations. If you like to send me an EQSL my email is bkavana@gmail.com

- Hello Brian! A mysterious event, maybe it will happen again?
This is an audio stream of some Polish local FM or Internet station. There are no BCS stations in the MW or HF bands in Poland. Polskie Radio Program 1 broadcasts on LW 225 kHz, but this is not their style.
I am not familiar with the announcer's voice and broadcast style from nationwide FM radio stations.
It's a pity that I didn't see this broadcast, which would have allowed me to conclude something about where the broadcast came from.
So far, only Radio Anthony broadcast from Poland on HF, but this is not their specific modulation or style of music.
- By the way, I will mention a technically interesting project from Poland last year.
One of the HFU reporters wrote that you can hear music on the SDR (probably located in Płońsk - the center of the country). I checked it and listened to other receivers in the environment.
The conclusion was clear - the program was transmitted with low power near the QTH of the receiver, or the audio signal was fed directly to the SDR. This interesting trick achieved "worldwide" coverage at a low cost. Unfortunately, only those in the know hear about it! ;)

Hello Ray - I listened to the Achim recording you are writing about.
The songs are not recognized by Shazam and I do not recognize the announcer's language as Polish.
I only caught a few English words but maybe he's talking about titles. The music is mixed with voice professionally, just like in the Polish station, which indicates the stream of retransmissions of a professional station (not a pirate one). The announcer's voice is a bit lower and she speaks less dynamically.
I think this is not the same station as Polish above and correcting this thread would be "far-fetched".
It's not certain what I wrote - I'm tired today after several hours of herring fishing, but I'll look for better headphones and listen to it some more. The last track reminds me of a Polish recording.

Listening again to the audiolog by Achim at 1918 UTC on 6258 :
that audio clip begins by the end part of "Free bird",
the beginning of "Free bird" is on the end of the voca-roo by Fisherman,
this is the same station,
and the name is '--- FM', I can't tell the language.
The frequency is surely 6258 (Fisherman gives approximate frequencies).
D/E/F/G/It/Sp : Dutch/English/French/German/Italian/Spanish
+/- : about 0.02 offset, ++/-- 0.03/0.04 offset
Balanced wire antennas, wire lines and ATU
