Thunder Chicken Radio 6955 USB 2328 UTC 3 May 2024
« on: May 03, 2024, 2328 UTC »
2328: extremely weak music
- tried several online SDRs and nothing seen/heard on them
2330: now with wide band UTE QRM, but still just barely discernable
~2335:  much stronger signal of something centered about 6956 (see photo); this disappeared while typing this, then back a 1/2 minute later

- essentially no chance of hearing it for the time being
0018: now with rock music, including "Verteran of the Psychic Wars" - Blue Oyster Cult
45444

Thank you for the show!

Well, it's come to this: It's midnight and I'm listening to a heavy metal cover version of "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round" on pirate short wave radio on Sternradio. Is life great, or what!?

Tuned in at 2337 on Brookfield WI sdr with weak signal, hear music under loud qrm which may be deliberate, came back with better S9+10+ signal and rock instrumentals, at 0101 SSTV/FAX then comedy version of "happy trails to you" then Thunder Chicken ID then off.

2348 UTC Unid screechy sound on loop...S9 peaks
(The same sound on 6935 USB but 6935 USB has some electronic music mixing with the screechy sound)

Yeah, the 6935 and 6956 sounds do have a somewhat musical quality, but the 6955 station (now impossible to hear) was "normal music".

Where I live, we have zillions of cicadas now that are pretty loud, easily heard from every direction, and sound like something from a sci-fi move. I like them. They don't seem to bother anything at all.
