I've just gotten the link for this,   https://www.35000watts.com/35000-watts-download-available-now/   I'd rather get the tangible DVD, but this can work as well.

Did it!!!! Ordered the $6.00, 1080p, version of this movie. The other is a 4K, $7.00 version. In my mind, these are overkill, where 480p, would have been just fine. The 1080p version is a 7GB download, and took me about 30min with Starlink to do so. BTW, format is .MOV file, and you purchase that from We Transfer. If, you do buy and download, just be sure that you have the hard drive space and even the processor speeds to view this flick. This little netbook Lenovo that I'm typing on can just barely do that. Oh... I've tried to dump it to a 16GB USB 2.0 thumbdrive, but got a 'File To Large' error. (Really???) Even did a re-format of that drive, to dump anything in it. I had to use a 64GB USB thumbdrive to do a transfer. (So, what's up there?) Have not had time to watch this, yet, but from the 1min opener, it looks good. I, even want to rip the audio. So, some heads-up here. Enjoy...

Your 16GB thumbdrive is probably formated in FAT/FAT32 which has an 8GB file size limit. You will need to format it as EXFAT or NTFS.

Re: 35000 Watts, Download worth it!!!! UDF format a drive? Oh my...

Actually, Boomer, of WAG AM690, told me how to format in UDF, and it worked quite well. I was able to get the whole 7GB flick on an 8GB USB thumbdrive, as well as the ripped audio for Part 15 radio airing. I did it the way described here,  https://www.getusb.info/how-to-format-a-flash-drive-as-udf-windows-7-10-solution/    , which works for me, since I make a short-cut for DOS for stuff like this, or to PING a network. I haven't tried this in Terminal Mode on Linux, yet. Anyway, it's worked for me, but might be good to heed the possible problems with going UDF format. Getting back to the DOC 35,000 Watts? Worth the $6.00 WE TRANSFER download! Jennifer Waits, of Radio Survivor podcasts, makes a guest appearance in this, as well as many band(s) members. If, you've ever grown-up listening to, or even was an air personnel, to college radio, you will relate to this!  Make it a a perfect 'movie-night' for your radio enthusiasts friends! If, you download this movie to a USB thumb drive, in UDF format, and have a smart TV to directly play thumb drives, you are all set to watch. ENJOY!!!!!!

I went to a screening of this film a few days ago in Berkeley, CA. The director was there, and did a Q&A afterwards. It was obvious that he put a great deal of work into it. He had shot a lot of interview footage. After the screening, he said that they have a lot more footage that didn't make it into the final cut, and was talking about doing something else with it. It'll be interesting to see how he uses it. He said that he had wanted to shoot at more stations, but the funding was limited.

Wow - KTXT has a big coverage area for a college station! The FCC contour map shows a radius of about 30 miles of solid "city grade" coverage, centered on Lubbock, Texas.

I haven't been to Lubbock, TX, but been to Amarillo, and remember just how flat the terrain was there. +30 miles of coverage? It wouldn't surprise me if KTXT was easily heard out to AR, OK, and even NM, borders. Even a few hundred watts on FM would reach a great distance there. But yeah, commercial stations would certainly envy that kind of coverage. As far as more material, that didn't get-in the 35,000 Watts movie, I hope that Michael Mallard can indeed do a follow-up to 35,000 Watts. Heck... Just the INFO that Jennifer Waits has, from her +100 college stations' visits, could easily fill a movie. Let's hope so...   Oh BTW... That 100kW college station mentioned in the movie is this one,  https://www.wheatstone.com/joomlatools-files/docman-files/downloadables//9_29_2022_WREK_Student_Radio_Gets_a_Much_Needed_Studio_Upgrade.pdf    and    https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/finder?sr=Y&s=C&call=Wrek&nav=home   Gees... How much is their power bill?
