8.003.49 heard here right now
« on: August 11, 2009, 0142 UTC »
8-11-09   0119-0932UTC    8.003.49   Cw 100 hz
In the 100 Hz if width the noise level is S1 tonight. Few local thunderstorms for a change
This beacon was on a fade cycle of about 3 seconds high signal to 4-5 seconds lower signal.
At its best it pushed the S-Meter from S1 to S5 and is building!
The signal is cw dash with a chirp that sounds like whoop whoop.
I'll need to hook up the tape recorder or better yet get a laptop for the hamshack
as I'm actually hearing something! No doubt I could record the signal on its high
fade without difficulty. Can't wait for winter low qrn  ;)

Rig TS870 with tuner to 65 ft wire 8 feet off the ground.
Will improve the antenna situati9n as soon as I find the time.
