The Association of Clandestine Enthusiasts pirate radio listeners club, was founded by Darren Leno  in 1982, partly in response to various other North American shortwave clubs who were reluctant or just outright refused to publish shortwave loggings of pirate radio stations.  Starting from scratch, the club soon became the "go-to" place for pirate radio loggings and news in North America, and later was granted membership in the ANARC Association of North American Radio Clubs.  The ACE had a strong membership for a niche radio club through the 1980's and 1990's (I believe their membership peaked somewhere over 1,000 members), until the growth of the internet and "instant posting" of logs there led to a steep decline of ACE membership, and finally the demise of the club in 2005.  A fairly complete history of the A.C.E. appears here: https://sites.google.com/site/napiratehof/a-c-e-history?authuser=0

I had these newsletters available from my now-defunct Free Radio Cafe website, but luckily they were hosted on Dropbox so are still available.
Thought I might as well post the folder link here, as they are rather important 'pirate radio artifacts' for North  American shortwave pirate radio.
They are kind of fun to read....  :)  Also, our HFU host Chris Smolinski was a contributor and sometime columnist/editor therein over the years.

This collection includes all ACE newsletters from 1989 to 2005, by year.  Start here:

Hey John,

I was in the ACE for quite a while and REALLY enjoyed reading it.

But as mentioned, internet technology eventually replaced print, so that ended  that.

Fantastic resource, that I wasn't familiar with at the time, so thanks for preserving it!
Big into SWDX late 70s through early 90s, then forgot about it and when I returned via SDRs it wasn't at all what I remembered, but I'll deal with it. Grumble, grumble. All SDRs acknowledged, nothing is from my own radio.

The ACE was the place for pirate info along with Yoder's Pirate Pages before the Internet Days. I might have even been an editor for a short time...bad memory.
