Many more new frequencies found in the past week. Several "interesting" frequency choices, too!  ;)

I heard Radio Havana announce last night that they'll be running on 5040 in SS and EE for the rest of the winter.

I checked 5040 against Radio Rebelde on 5025 last night. Rebelde was good 2-3 S units better than RH on 5040.

My guess is I'm off beam for 5040, but it could be the transmitter sites. Cuba isn't very wide, but that island is long.

Thanks Pigmeat! Yes, I think they tend to use 5040 more in the winter. But having said that, they can be pretty unreliable in their services….at any time of the year.Must be the laid-back Caribbean way!  ;)

Cheers

I still haven't heard R. Progreso in the lower part of the 60 meter band.  If they're on, my radio isn't -- or vice versa -- apparently.
An AM radio Boombox DXer.
+ GE SRIII, PR-D5 & TRF on MW.
The usual Realistic culprits on SW (and a Panasonic).

I hear radio Progreso on 4765 pretty well from my qth in the central US most every night. Actually I hear it on my dog walks with a pl660 & no external antenna. They put a good signal in here & play some cool Cuban music.

Sadly for us Aussies, R. Progresso is impossible on 4765 with its current operating schedule of 0030-0400. This is 11.30am to 3.30pm EDST.  :(
