UK FM CB Activity 1955 UTC+ 21 February 2025 [W3HFU SDR]

Nice band opening to the Americas and Europe.  Noted activity on the German FM CB channels, 26.925 MHz FM, 26.935 MHz FM, plus the UK on site pager (hospital pagers) on 26.695 MHz FM and 26.745 MHz FM.  European paging signals on 26.600 MHz FM, 26.650 MHz, 26.900 MHz FM and 26.950 MHz FM.

UK FM CB activity:

27631 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 4 - FM signals noted, severe QRM from 27.630 MHz USB, 27.635 MHz USB
27651 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 6 - more pager QRM from 27.650 MHz FM, but UK voices noted on 27.65125 MHz FM
27671 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 8 - UK CB activity noted at 1957 UTC, signals coming up amidst SSB QRM 27.675 MHz et. al.
27701 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 11 - QRM from paging / data signals on 27.700 MHz FM, also SSTV on 27.700 MHz USB
27731 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 14 - active, some SSB QRM
27751 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 16 - more pager QRM, this time from 27.750 MHz FM - 27.75125 MHz FM UK FM 27/81 CB
27761 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 17 - QRM from taxi cab dispatchers on 27.755 MHz AM and 27.765 MHz AM
27781 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 19 - very active, numerous signals mixing together 27.78125 MHz FM
27801 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 21 - weak FM voice, but there's an unmodulated FM carrier that is queiting the receiver in FM mode too
27811 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 22 - another dead carrier, some fading in and out thick British accents at 1957 UTC
27841 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 25 - possibly a CADS / WPAS church radio broadcast?  music and background audio
27881 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 29 - activity noted, severe QRM from Mexican taxi cab comms on 27.885 MHz AM
27901 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 31 - activity on 27.90125 MHz FM, also some paging QRM from 27.900 MHz FM
27911 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 32 - stations talking about farming - 27.91125 MHz FM
27921 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 33 - sounds like farmers - 27.92125 MHz FM
27941 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 35 - weak comms noted
27951 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 36 - severe QRM from German language comms on 27.955 MHz FM
27971 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 38 - sporadic activity
27991 FM - UK FM CB radio channel 40 - some activity, seems like another dead carrier in the mix too 27.99125 MHz FM


Tuned away from the UK FM CB band again at 2006 UTC, noted the Germans are still going on 27.955 MHz FM as well as on 26.955 MHz FM, 26.935 MHz FM, 26.925 MHz FM, 26.845 MHz FM and several other frequencies.  Latin American comms and U.S. LMR comms also noted on 25 MHz and 26 MHz frequencies, AM mode with 26.555 MHz LSB being an obvious exception.  Paging signals noted on 26.950 MHz FM, 26.900 MHz FM, 26.850 MHz FM, 26.800 MHz FM, 26.755 MHz FM, 26.750 MHz FM, 26.745 MHz FM, 26.700 MHz FM, 26.695 MHz FM, 26.650 MHz FM, 26.645 MHz FM, 26.450 MHz FM, 26.350 MHz FM and 26.200 MHz FM.  Also, lots and lots of OTH radar signals all over the band.
