Liquid Radio 6850 AM 0012 UTC 18 MAR 2025
« on: March 18, 2025, 0013 UTC »
While you guys were busy following Stern Radio around the dial, I was looking for other stuff.
At 0012, I'm still in daylight out here so SDR-only reception for now.

0012 - hard-driving, non-trance-y EDM. SINPO 44344 on an SDR in Texas.
0020 - "It can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with, it doesn't feel fear and it absolutely will not stop. EVER!" and ID.
0029 - ID, into REM, "Radio Free Europe".
0033 - The Clash, "Radio Clash."
0036 - ID, into Wall of Voodoo, "Mexican Radio."
0037 - ID, into The Buggles, "Video Killed the Radio Star."
0044 - "You have it locked on...Find us at liquidradioonline.com", into David Bowie, "Rocket Man".
[Side note: the online stream is ~2 sec behind the SDR I'm listening to (which is in turn probably delayed from the actual OTA), so playing both simultaneously is 'interesting'.]
0049 - ID, Peter Schilling, "Major Tom (Coming Home)."
0053 - "Oh, hey, is your mommy around? I need to tell her about her husband being dead.", ID. Tears For Fears, "Everybody Wants To Rule The World."
0058 - INXS, "Kiss the Dirt (Falling Down the Mountain)."
0101 - ID, New Order.
0106 - "These are the good commercials...", ID.

[I have to get back to work but I will still be listening.]

0204 (or so) - TX off.

Fixed the date. - Thanks for the notice, DK.

S0 ~ S7 @ 0144 here - don't know the song, too much fade to detect it with Shazam. Sounds late 80s early 90s, maybe Depeche Mode.
Various SDRs, Icom IC-7300
Loop-on-Ground 60-foot square
Near Gulf Coast in FL, Central Time Zone, USA

Via a recording.  Knowing where and when from this newspaper helped.  Their carrier appeared at 0002.  Their signal was never usable in Wyomissing, and often no audio was heard, through 0127.
