A license to operate four shortwave transmitters in Junglinster has been granted by Elisabeth Margue, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Media and Connectivity.
The Belgian radio station, RADIO ONDA, won the tender for broadcasting on the following frequencies:
6140 kHz, with an on-air power of 1 kW, and the frequencies of 9530 kHz, 15190 kHz, and 25850 kHz with an on-air power of 100 W.
This license is granted for a ten-year period, but is renewable. It will expire for the first time on December 31, 2035.
Radio Onda is the radio station for the Brazilian community in Belgium. It broadcasts online, on DAB+ in the Brussels region, and on shortwave. Its studios are located in the Brussels Bockstael railway station. The new facility in Luxembourg is intended to replace the current transmitter, which was located in the Netherlands.
