I may have partially figured this out but only partially.

1228 UTC Vatican Radio IS into what sounded like Russian service. 
1230 Several mentions of Papa Francisco throughout broadcast.
1249 IS
1250 OFF (same as scheduled service on other frequencies)

They do broadcast in Russian at 1230 UTC on 9810 and 11805 from Tinang, multiples of those frequencies do not get to 21760.  Unauthorized relay to spread the word of the Father?

Back again today, excellent reception.  No broadcast on this frequency yesterday.  Still no listing found for this transmission.

Eibi lists only one tx on this frequency for the just-begun a25 season, a Mandarin language broadcast of Radio Vaticana 1100-1145 UTC on Saturdays only from their Santa Maria di Galeria transmitter. Obv. all your reports occured in b24, but the fact that they now have a scheduled transmission, even if not in the language you heard or the exact time, makes it likely you heard a legit Radio Vaticana broadcast. Perhaps testing?

I checked eibi after you noted.  The other frequency I posted about, 21730 Spanish service, is also on the A25 schedule as Vatican Radio Spanish service to Caribbean.
