The following was ripped from The West Virginia Splatter 4/2025 e-Newsletter:

"USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO REMOVE NOISE
I have recently seen two presentations by David Wiley, WV8O, on the FREE RM Noise software
program. It uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to remove noise from SSB voice or CW radio signals.
The AI is trained using noise recordings which are often unique to each setup and location. This
software program requires a computer and an internet connection so it may not be useful in POTA or
mobile operations.
Individuals who install the software are asked to record their radio for a half hour and submit those
recordings to help train the software. The client program sends the radio’s noisy reception to the AI
servers, and the servers remove the noise in real-time and return the audio back to the client for
listening. The turn-around was so short I couldn't tell that there was any delay.
In both demonstrations the noise reduction was dramatic! In one, the transmission came through the
filtering understandable even though the original signal was all static to my ear. If you have a noisy
reception at your location this software may be the answer to your prayers."

So, have any of you tried RM Noise software?

“I am often asked how radio works. Well, you see, wire telegraphy
is like a very long cat. You yank his tail in New York and he
meows in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? Now, radio is
exactly the same, except that there is no cat.”
-Attributed to Albert Einstein, but I ripped it from the latest Splatter .PDF March 2025 issue.

I have been playing around with it and it is awesome.
I have used many radios NR functions and I have a couple of dedicated NR devices, this cleans up the sound better than any of them.
It reminds me of one of the noise reduction options in SDR Console, the "Cleanup noise reduction algorithm".
It can remove all of the staic and hiss and I think makes long term listening much more confortable.

The current client needs a little bit of polish, but it works great and is free so I am not complaining.
I think it is worth checking out and it should only get better in the future.
