It's not just NPR affiliates who receives funding from the CPB; it's plenty more local radio stations who provide incredible service through public broadcasting to rural parts of this country. This recent NPR article explains futher...https://www.npr.org/2025/07/20/nx-s1-5469908/trump-npr-public-community-radio-corporation-broadcasting-federal-funding-cuts

Lord knows I rarely hold back my opinion, and this is no different a case. Trump and the GOP are destroying public broadcasting as a desperate and pathetic ploy to "save us money" but, in reality, we all know why he's doing it. NPR and PBS don't just provide news and entertainment. They are a source of cultural enrichment for millions of Americans. And, it's hard to keep a population in the dark when they have outlets such as NPR that inform us. To be fair, I'm no massive fan of NPR (not for any political reason, mind you) but this is, in way shape or form, making America great again. We are sliding head first in to a new dark age, thanks entirely to the GOP.

For god's sake, save community radio!
