Favorite Pirate Radio stations from the 80's both heard and QSL'd were Voice of Venus, RNCI, Tangerine Radio, Voice of To-morrow, Voice of Laryngitis, Radio Sound Wave, Radio Paradise International and Radio Clandestine among many others.

0114 @my noise floor (S3) playing EDM?
All reports given are direct from my station in NYC.
Main toys are a Flex 3000 SDR, Icom 756 Pro II and other assorted odds & ends. They may be older, but work very well for me.

IC-7300,2 R-390A, SP600, SX 62A, SX71, NC173, Antennas: 2 EFHW 80-10 120' 1 N/S 1 E/W, EFWH 40-10, 62' E/W, RX LOOP (.5-30) with Rotor.  RSPdx & Duo Rice Box used when traveling with Chinese loop. It's really interesting... The signal was obviously strong enough to trigger Shazam to ID a track. Yet a station ID which plays after every track wasn't heard? Stranger yet, the station IDs punch through harder than the song tracks. Hmm...
