UNID using EAS tones 1530 AM 0358 UTC 04 Sept 2025
« on: September 04, 2025, 2010 UTC »
Heard on 1530 kHz last night at 0358 UTC. Someone airing a ~3 minute loop that includes 3 EAS header tones and attention tone followed by some music and two addresses for x.com user accounts repeated several times over (can't make either of them out). It was first pointed out by another DXer in Arkansas who was hearing it for some time earlier. We stopped hearing it sometime after 0402 UTC.

Definitely not a real EAS alert. No EOM tones ever heard.

This is the song they played: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JODQ7FlAaXg

Here's some clips.

Is it a station stunting or DJ screwing around by illegally using EAS tones and airing explicit music? A Pirate? A hijacked STL of a station on 1530?

Receiver: Unlisted KiwiSDR configured to 3-channel wideband mode.
Ant: Homemade "Wellgood" 1m amplified loop normally kept in a fixed position (NNW/SSE) to keep 1500 KSTP in the null.
