SDRplay RSP2/RSPdx  w/SDRuno or SDRconnect SW ; N-S 43M Dipole /  Disclaimer: Shazam/Sound-Hound used to ID many songs.

Well, it's come to this: It's midnight and I'm listening to a heavy metal cover version of "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round" on pirate short wave radio on Sternradio. Is life great, or what!?

0130 on Traverse City MI sdr with weak noisy S9+10 signal, pop music.
Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, CB antenna, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because my 7mhz dipole came down in a storm and after my stroke on 3 June 2024 I can no longer get up on a ladder to fix it. Also too much neighborhood noise. 0136 Strangely, the signal is so weak that it is unreadable here on Long Island. Perhaps the band is running long. Normally Ballsmacker is S9+20.
Unless noted otherwise, all reports are direct from my location on Long Island NY.
eQSLs: [email protected]
Music identified with Shazam

Radios: Too many
Antennas: 40 meter dipole, 80 meter dipole, several end feds, Zero Five 10m-40m Ground Plane.

0153 Wow, like the Professor said band is running long. Barely S3-5 tonight with no hint of audio.
All reports given are direct from my station in NYC.
Main toys are a Flex SDR, Icom 756 Pro II and other assorted odds & ends. They may be older, but work very well for me.
100 ft random wire (all my city lot allows)

Lots of bad reports close in, as if the band is long.  Same "typical" setup as most nights tonight...
Kicking it good South of PA....  No good as it got later in NY, NH, VT, ME, PA, MA, CT.
We usually don't start simulcast on 4032 Wide USB until Nov....

Thanks for trying and your comments!  You all are awesome!
