SDRplay RSP2/RSPdx  w/SDRuno or SDRconnect SW ; N-S 43M Dipole /  Disclaimer: Shazam/Sound-Hound used to ID many songs.

Well, it's come to this: It's midnight and I'm listening to a heavy metal cover version of "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round" on pirate short wave radio on Sternradio. Is life great, or what!?

S9+ signal heard via the Traverse City, Michigan, SDR with pretty good audio and moderate noise levels; SINPO 55343 overall ...

0121 UTC: Beethoven's "Symphony No. 9: Presto" by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This has the familiar "Ode to Joy" theme in it.
0126 UTC: Male voice with Ode to Joy Radio ID "sponsored by Alpine Symphony," then "Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 'Choral': Recitativo 'O Freunde, nicht diese Tone'" by the New York Philharmonic. This, too, incorporates the "Ode to Joy" melody.
0130 UTC: "Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 'Choral': IV: Presto."
* * * * * *
0140 UTC: Had to go unload the groceries from the car for my wife, and I return to hear an old trailer for "Tora! Tora! Tora!" That movie came out three months before I was born.
0143 UTC: "Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 'Choral': IV: Presto - Allegro assai - 'Ode to Joy.'"
0147 UTC:  "Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 'Choral': IV: Presto - Allegro assai." There's also occasionally somebody saying "hey, hey, hey" in the background. Not sure if that's another station or a peskie.
0149 UTC: Male-voiced announcer: "This is Ode to Joy Radio" and said we were listening to the London Symphony's performance of "Symphony No. 9" and gave email address.
0150 UTC: Off.

I have been using online receivers because my 7mhz dipole came down in a storm and after my stroke on 3 June 2024 I can no longer get up on a ladder to fix it. Also too much neighborhood noise.
