Radio Shack Breaks Campaign In Support of New Positioning
« on: January 28, 2014, 1949 UTC »
In its latest brand-positioning shift, struggling consumer electronics retailer Radio Shack Corp. is emphasizing one of its longtime, core tenets: customer service...

...In one upcoming ad, a father of eight children goes to a Radio Shack store with his entire brood, who are asleep -- and more than one is strapped to him. Dad's problem: he wants to watch an action movie at night without waking up the kids. Radio Shack's solution: plug headphones into the Roku box.

The last time they had "customer service" was in the early 90's. Fat chance getting the trust back >:(

Peace!

+1, even though from what I can remember, it wasn't that good even then.

Around here it meant each store hired a tech type who actually knew stuff. If he wasn't working you were SOoL.

The guy who put me on to Digikey was a Rat Shack geek from that era. Another one had a guy........make sure you're sitting down for this one........a ham ticket!

Yep! I was one of them.

District manager came around and said, "Make him stop serving customers with questions and make him sell them cell phones!"

Boss relayed the message that corporate was trying to run us out and most of us quit. Those that didn't were fired a couple months later ::)

Peace!
