CB harmonics at 54 MHz
« on: October 25, 2025, 2017 UTC »
I'm hearing a strong CB station on 54.570 out of Colorado this afternoon (20:10 UTC). That frequency divided by 2 is 27.285, right in the CB band. I'm hearing other AM carriers just above the 6 meter band, as well.

This is a first for me. Never listened much above 6 meters, but today I was looking for analog TV carriers (if they still exist) and found it. I'm sure those amplified CB transmitters look amazing on a scope.

The antenna is a log periodic that works HF through low VHF and the receiver is an ft-897.
