Reminder : after tens of years, the French authorities suceeded to close Radio Andorre down, in 1981.
As a revenge, the Andorran counsellors also removed (not renewed) the licence of the competing Sud-Radio, a station entirely backed by the French authorities, spending huge funds to build a high power transmitter at high altitude. Strange irony of fate, 1981 was also the year of 'liberation of the waves' in France. The lawyers of Sud-Radio got a few month of reprieve, but the French authorities ultimately saved Sud-Radio by removing transmitters of the public Radio-France to relay Sud Radio... infringeing the then still in force state monopoly of broadcasting.

Not Halloween fun: just after the war, the owner of Radio-Andorre was SENTENCED TO DEATH in France, based on forged testimonies about collaboration with German occupants, with the consequence that all of his holdings would be seized (including his station). The French authorities had already resold the station before the sentence !
